November 2023-to-February 2024 UPDATE

This should be titled MISSING IN ACTION

This is an attempt to describe these “missing months..”

With thanks to all for prayers and gifts.

**I celebrated Thanksgiving with my dear“other family,” Tim & Susan Bebo. (Susan was a prayer partner in a church in Alaska! She’s the recipient of two kidney transplants…..many of you joined me in prayer for them….and we both ended up in Loveland, Colorado! ) I wasn’t feeling my best, but had no idea where that was headed. (Remember: Everyone…..including Yours Truly…… always commented on my excellent health.)

The following might be corrected by those who spent the next weeks/months seeing my life in

transition……much of it I cannot remember. Just before Thanksgiving, I developed a very bad cough, with flu-like symptoms, prompting my next door neighbors to test me for Covid (tested positive) and taking me to Urgent Care. After that, the following is the best I can tell you of this very unexpected turn in my health.

I spent days not being sure I was even heading toward good health……Sometimes, I didn’t

understand what was happening to me…….After experiencing such confusion, and following

several bouts of different kinds of symptoms, my friend, Susan, “kidnapped” me……took me to her home (about five miles from my home), and I’m still here….although I’m really feeling fine, and all my stats are becoming normal.

I have been tested multiple times, been hospitalized twice, become a pin cushion for those

amazing phlebotomists who drew all that blood…….have been very carefully cared for by more

doctors and specialists than I can name…….all with dear Susan by my side through every bit of

the journey. (After two kidney transplants, it’s like living with the doctor…..she keeps track of my

vitals, and uses terms I don’t understand……just like my doctors!). The final diagnosis is “heart

failure”…….A-Fib, which the doctor says can be treated with the proper medications! Right now,

we’re working on keeping me hydrated.

I guess that’s the best I can do for now to get all that attention……I’m really hoping to avoid such

issues in the future……I’ll be happy with all your love and prayers as the greatest focus.

Gratefully with love and prayers, Mabel
